Questions about fires in Montana

As our fall season begins, we are receiving some questions from participants about whether or not camp might be canceled due to fires in this part of the country and want to assure everyone the plans continue to move forward for both the fall Ovarian Cancer Retreat and also the Women's Cancer Retreat in early to mid September. Although there are fires burning in western Montana, Camp itself is only affected currently by periodic smoke. We look forward to seeing those of you joining us at Camp in the coming weeks!  More...

Fall Adult Cancer Retreats

September is our fall adult cancer retreat season, including the ovarian cancer retreat, September 7-11 and the women's cancer retreat, September 14-18. Both retreats have filled and do have waiting lists already. If you have applied and been confirmed to attend either retreat, please be sure to get your paperwork and travel itinerary into us ASAP. For those on the waiting list, we continue to receive cancellations and are moving folks from the waiting list into confirmed spots. Please keep in mind, however, that all travel scholarships have been awarded for this year and there are no more requests able to be considered. Interested in Volunteering at Camp?

With the New Year comes a new camp season and it's almost time to begin the volunteer application process for spring and summer 2017 sessions. Check out the Program Calendar , if you're interested in applying. Online applications are currently open for a limited number of full-season cores staff positions and will open on Monday, January 9th for volunteer positions, with interviews starting in mid-February. Honoring & Remembering Sylvia Granader

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Sylvia Granader, beloved wife of Harry, co-founder of Camp Mak-A-Dream, surrogate 'grandmother' to campers, weaver and art teacher extraordinaire, WWII Wasp pilot, kind and generous soul. We want to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who participated in our 24-hour online campaign on November 15. Not only did you help us reach our fundraising goal of $76,000, but you also helped us spread the word and amazing stories of the magic that takes place at Camp Mak-A-Dream! FREE Public Cancer Resource Fair - October 1

Join us for a FREE Cancer Resource Fair - Saturday, October 1 / 10am-3 pm - at Camp Mak-A-Dream in Gold Creek, MT. This event is being held in collaboration with the Montana Cancer Center at St. Patrick Hospital and will include a sampling of workshops and the opportunity to connect with local cancer resource providers. It's FREE and open to cancer patients/survivors, care givers and family members. Topics willinclude yoga/meditation, nutrition and healthy living, mindfulness, self care and more. Lunch is provided. Camp activities including zip line, mini-golf, and art projects will be offered from 2-3 pm following workshops and the vendor fair. Camp is Recognized at the Montana Legislature!

Camp Mak-A-Dream was honored on Friday, March 6th at the Montana Legislature!  Six members of the legislature, from both the House and the Senate, signed a joint proclamation in honor of Camp's 20th Anniversary!  A big "thank you" to Debby Barrett (President of the Senate), Austin Knudsen (Speaker of the House), Matthew Rosendale (Senate Majority Leader), Keith Regier (House Majority Leader), Jon Sesso (Senate Minority Leader) and Chuck Hunter (House Minotiry Leader) for sponsoring the proclamation!  And a special "thank you" to Chuck Mazurek, Tom and Wendy Downey, Colleen and John Powers, Tom Reilly,  Bill and Vicky Gruber, Roy Whitehouse and Steve and Laura Marks, just to name a few, who put the bug in everyone's ears!  :)  We appreciate all of you so very much!
