Traveling to Camp
Travel Information
With over 80% of our campers coming from out of state, navigating travel to and from camp is not new to us! Whether you plan to drive to Montana or fly in, below is the information that you need to know to help with your planning.
While the Camp experience - including lodging, meals, camp activities and transportation between the Missoula, MT airport (MSO) and the Camp facility in Gold Creek, MT is all offered FREE of cost to participants, travel to Montana is the responsibility of the campers, volunteers and summer staff members.
Financial Travel Assistance: Camp Māk-A-Dream does offer a limited number of travel scholarships to first time participants. Returning participants who demonstrate financial need may be considered, but please note that priority is given to first time attendees.
Assistance requires a Travel Scholarship Application be completed at least 30 days prior to the first day of the camp session (you can find the link to this form on the APPLY page of this site). In addition to Camp’s travel assistance, there are a handful of other outside organizations who may be able to provide travel assistance that you would need to reach out to directly. If you experience challenges when booking your travel, please contact us so that we can investigate possible resources.

-Meet us at MSO - if you live in the area or its a closer drive to Missoula than Gold Creek, you can meet us at the airport and ride with the group
-Drive directly to camp
Details About Flying
Since flights to Montana can be limited and/or expensive, we suggest campers book their flights soon after being accepted. Our staff greet travelers at the airport and wait with the group until they depart for camp.
Many of our campers fly alone. Most airlines offer an Unaccompanied Minor service for an additional fee. Depending on the age of the traveler, this service may be required or is optional and may have flight restrictions. Please visit the airline’s website for information about their unaccompanied minor policies. (Alaska, American, Delta, and United all fly into Missoula)
